The Office of the General Counsel oversees all of the University’s legal affairs and advises the Corporation, the President, senior officers, other university administrators, and faculty and staff who are acting within the scope of their employment. The OGC provides advice and counsel on legal and risk management areas, as well as major policies, initiatives and programs of the University.  Seven attorneys and four paralegal and support staff, as well as an attorney embedded in the Investment Office, cover Practice Areas spanning all University divisions, departments, programs, and operations.  The OGC is the only office that is authorized to hire outside counsel on behalf of the University.

The Office of the Vice President and General Counsel is located in the South Street Landing, which is a secure office. Meetings are available by appointment only. Please make necessary arrangements prior to visiting the General Counsel's Office.
